January 15

Catholic Evangelization Outreach

“Thy will, not my will” by Steve Freemon

Our January Outreach will feature Steve Freemon, a Catholic that slowly drifted away from his faith after moving away from home.  After losing his wife in her mid 20′s and his parents shortly after, he became angry with God and drifted even further away.  Come hear his amazing personal witness of how God called him back to the Church.

The talk begins at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Church in Marion, followed by refreshments.
All are welcome so please invite a friend, there is no charge. Daycare provided.

is a non-profit Catholic Conference.  It is a grassroots effort of faith springing up
out of the heart of Iowa and blessed by Bishop Richard E. Pates of the

Diocese of Des Moines.

The conference was conceived in 2008 and was inspired by the Holy Spirit pulling
on the hearts of two women in central Iowa.  They prayed, gathered a dedicated and
spiritually motivated group of volunteers, and secured world-renowned speakers.  The
result was a first–of-its kind Catholic Conference. Now we are offering a second
Christ Our Life conference focused on bringing Catholics together, inspiring,
celebrating and exploring their faith and bringing souls to Christ.
The conference is Sept 22-23 at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
The all-weekend pass for adults is $25, students/youth (college and under) is $15.
Tickets are available for purchase in the parish office.
Checks are made payable to Christ Our Life Conference.

MCO is holding a fundraiser during RAGBRAI's stop in                          Cedar Rapids July 26, 27.

In partnership with Metro Catholic Outreach St. Wenceslaus Church will be hosting a Pork and Dumpling dinner             as well as a bake sale and Breakfast on the Bridge.  We are looking for bakers to help with pies and baked         goods, as well as help the evening of the dinner, and the morning of the breakfast. Proceeds from the dinner will be shared between the parish and MCO; proceeds from the bake sales Thursday and Friday will help support MCO's food pantry and financial assistance program. Please see the following website to volunteer for this event!

In addition, you can sign up for any of these volunteer opportunities by contacting the parish office.
