The Archdiocesan Youth Ministry Office coordinated “Rapid Relief 2008” for people 14 and older. This service camp took place from August 11-15.  We had many youth and youth ministers in the church for three days; they were an incredible help in working with St. Wenceslaus volunteers with the Chihak Hall project....the hall will be approximately 30% larger than its pre-flood size.

  THANK YOU !!!

allow for concrete floors to be poured.

Work on the stage in the gym has begun.

The RFK trailer used as our warehouse for two months was one of the numerous examples of donated goods/services.

Sand to be used for the addition to the Chihak Hall floor.
(The Porta John is an another example of donated goods/services.)

Aug 16- The removal of rock from Chihak Hall is nearing completion.

All the kneeler frames were thoroughly scrubbed and power-washed and stored in the truck trailer in the parking lot. August 16 they
were moved into the gym building to be ready for the re-assembling process.

Part of the Saturday, August 16 crew. Most of the contents of the truck trailer were moved into the gym building. Once a couple
of other large items are moved the trailer can be moved out of the parking lot.

The first project was removing the tar from the gym floor to allow a concrete floor to be poured soon.

Al and Len Smejkal have spent many hours refurbishing pews. Many were in need of non-flood-related  repairs; this
seemed to be an opportune time for this before they are returned  to the church

Work in the gym continues...

The rebuild of our church would not be possible without the incredible efforts of volunteers. There is a handful of people who seem
to be on the property working everyday!!!. Without you our recovery could not take place. The "ringleaders" of this band of heroes

are Jerry Beer (below) and Bob Ruzicka (next photo).
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!
